Adapted from Le Guin’s 1982 short story, Sur takes place in 1909 following the journey of nine women on a secret expedition to Antarctica, radically evading societal constraints. The Ellen Stewart Theatre at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club is transformed into a living breathing world of icebergs, glaciers, blizzards, and horizonless expanses.
